Invite the child to join you at the table. Bring the box to the work area (box is shown and a link to purchase is available for amazon). Remove all of the cubes from the box. Line up the cubes according to their attributes (by colored sides). Point out to the child that you will begin with the largest cube. Place it in the corner of the box that has the sides closed. Select the next largest cubes and point out that only red sides touch red sides. Also, point out that the height of the cubes should be the same. Continue until the blue cube remains and place it in the box. Point out to the child that the pattern on the box matches the cube. Invite the child to do the exercise. Return the cube to the shelf. The purpose of this activity is to provide concrete experience with geometric parts of a binomial cube, to develop concentration, to develop a mathematical mind, and to develop hand-eye coordination.
